About 4 billion years ago, the primitive atmosphere developed on Earth. This initially deleterious environment slowly mutated to enable the appearance of life. Here we are today, nonchalantly bathing in a fluid that we call "air", whose fluctuations condition our existence. But air is not the only medium in which we evolve. Schlieren Dive is an artistic performance and installation that seeks to question and magnify the feedback loop that links our sound and visual environment and our motor behavior. Ardélion's work addresses the adaptation of the body and the mind in the face of a synthetic environment, halfway between the physical and the virtual. This paradox between psychomotor sensation and psychoacoustic phenomena invites spectators to become aware of, and then to appropriate the impact of the modification of their gestures on the musical composition.

Biography

Ardélion is a collective of Marseille-based artists founded in 2021 by Luca Goubert and Nils Raymond. Curious to explore the universe of the senses, they question the way we tune our senses in order to evolve in our environment. During their performances, they rely on a combination of psychoacoustic and visual effects to question the way we behave and adapt to sudden changes in sensory environment.
