Today's society is intimately linked to the inescapable web.
Social relations are evolving, particularly through social networks, which model the image of each individual
to the point of losing him or her between the physical and digital worlds.
Physical identity, defined by tangible experiences and interactions, now merges with digital identity,
which is not only the result of individual online choices, but also of personalized projections that anticipate desires and needs.
With the proliferation of algorithms, we are guided towards a continuous dopamine scroll.
This creates a loop where actions feed suggestions, continually enriching the quest for online pleasure and satisfaction.
This state of life creates such blurred boundaries between the tangible world and the simulation that it becomes difficult to distinguish between them and position oneself.
Professor Paulo M. Barroso describes this state by updating the concept of hyperreality (reality amplified by simulations) and goes beyond the simple mixture of the two realities,
thus underlining a significant cultural change.
This reflection raises questions about the influence of digital technology on our experience of pleasure.
Are we not all immersed in this infinite web today, seeking pleasure? In this world where humans and machines merge to create new experiences,
what becomes of human/machine interactions?
The exhibition Totems d'un monde nouveau attempts to answer these questions through performances
and immersive multimedia installations, video works, and plastic projects.
Emerging artists and/or those supported by halone explore the repercussions of technology on our daily lives.
Their approach aims to highlight the reconciliation between our physical being and our digital alter ego, while raising awareness of contemporary culture.
